L. D. Martin is originally from the 'flat land' prairie of Central South Dakota. After serving during the Korean War, he attended and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BFA in Commercial Art. The great outdoors, and the creatures that dwell in it, have long been a part of his environment. After several years in the 'advertising world', where speed was the emphasis, acrylic, India ink, colored pencil and felt markers have become the mediums of his choice. Landscapes and animals in their natural habitat are usually the subject matter found on his easel. Mr. Martin currently resides in Rapid City, South Dakota.
