"I knew from a very young age that art would play a large role in my life. I graduated from art school at the University of St. Cloud in Minnesota. Soon after, I found a fine art teaching position in Rapid City, South Dakota where I taught for 33 years. Teaching exposed me to a wide variety of media, styles, and artists. My own work seems to reflect a lot of that variety. Many of my activities involve the outdoors, which is a large influence on the subject matter found in my work. Since retiring from education, I spend my time painting acrylic works of wildlife, people, and landscapes in my studio just outside of Rapid City. The Black Hills and the Badlands remain a large part of that focus. Throughout the years, I have participated in many group shows, and you’ll find my work displayed at local art galleries in the Black Hills
