Art Of The Dakotas Artist

Born and raised on a ranch near White River, South Dakota, the works of this self-taught artist reflect her love of nature and her unique ability to capture the special individual characteristics of her subjects. A 'prairie artist', Bonnie feels almost anything can become an inspiration for a painting and she is seldom without a camera to catch whatever she might see that day. When possible she paints on location, like at the Big Sioux River Falls or her family's ranch. Recent travels in the southwestern United States and Europe have added to her subject matter, inspiring paintings of the Grand Canyon in vivid layers of color, and urban scenes of Rome and Venice depicting the people and the rich sculptural traditions of southern Europe.
